Customisation and SDK

Add what only your business does, without a rebuild

Every wholesaler has something that doesn’t fit a template. TierCommerce lets you add it through custom fields, charges and modules, without forking the platform.

Customise at three levels

  • Custom fields and charges

Add fields and line items such as installation, freight or a site contact to products, carts and orders.

  • Dates and data from your ERP

Show next-shipment and incoming-stock dates, and other data your customers ask for.

  • Rules and modules

Build your own rules and modules through our extension SDK, such as installation bookings or project pricing.

How it fits together

Your changes sit on top of the platform, not inside it. TierCommerce keeps updating underneath, and your fields, charges and modules keep working.

What you add

Set up, or built through the SDK

  • Custom fields and charges Set up without code
  • Extra ERP data Mapped from fields your ERP already holds
  • Extensions Rules and modules built with the SDK
TierCommerce

The TierCommerce core

  • Runs your extensions at set points, like checkout
  • Keeps them separate from the core code
  • Updates without breaking what you’ve added
  • Applies the same permissions to everything

Where it shows up

Through to your ERP

  • Storefront and checkout Fields, dates and charges buyers see
  • Quotes and orders Extra lines and details on every document
  • Your ERP Charges and fields sent with the order

How it works

Three changes a furniture wholesaler might make, from no code to a custom module.

  1. 1

    Add a charge without code

Set up a charge such as installation or freight, choose which products it applies to and how it’s worked out, and map it to a code in your ERP. It appears in carts, quotes and orders.

    • A flat amount, per unit, or a percentage
    • Optional or added automatically
    • Mapped to a non-stock item in your ERP
  2. 2

Show the dates customers ask for

Bring across data your ERP already holds, such as next-shipment and incoming-stock dates, and show it where buyers need it. Fewer “when’s it back in?” calls for your team.

    • Next-shipment and incoming-stock dates
    • Custom product attributes from your ERP
    • Fields on carts and orders, like a site contact
  3. 3

Build a module for the rest

For the parts only your business does, your developers or our implementation partner build an extension with the SDK. It plugs into set points in TierCommerce, such as pricing and checkout, so platform updates don’t break it.

    • Built on the platform, not a fork of it
    • Your developers can use the SDK
    • Or our implementation partner builds it

Customisation that doesn’t trap you

  • Built on the platform, not a fork of it
  • Your developers can use the SDK
  • Or our implementation partner builds it
  • Custom modules on larger plans
  • Changes that suit other wholesalers can join the core product

About our team

Customisation and SDK questions

What can we customise?

Custom fields and charges, such as installation or freight, on products, carts and orders; data such as next-shipment dates from your ERP; and your own rules and modules through our extension SDK.

Can our own developers build on TierCommerce?

Yes. Your developers can build rules and modules through our extension SDK.

Who builds custom work if we don’t have developers?

Our implementation partner, the team behind TierCommerce, quotes and builds custom modules and integrations.

Will custom work break when you update the platform?

Custom work is built on the platform through the SDK rather than by changing the platform itself, which keeps it separate from our updates.
