Privacy policy
What we collect when you visit tiercommerce.com or talk to us, why we collect it, and how to see, correct or delete it.
Who we are
TierCommerce is operated by Digital Bird Pty Ltd, based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Digital Bird Pty Ltd.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). When we deal with people in New Zealand, we also follow the information privacy principles in New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and run this website.
- When you book a demo: your name, work email, phone number if you give one, company, role, the system you run your business on, roughly how many trade customers you have, where you’re based, and anything you write in the message box.
- When you sign up for our Wholesale Ordering Benchmark: your first name, work email, company, role, where you’re based, and whether you’d like to take part in the survey. We use these to send you the report and, if you asked, a survey invitation.
- When you email or call us: your contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you browse the site: our servers record technical details such as your IP address, browser, the pages you request and when. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health information, and we ask you not to send it to us.
Cookies and browser storage
The site uses two cookies that it needs to work: a session cookie, and a security token that protects our forms from forged submissions. If you close the banner that suggests our Australian or New Zealand section, your browser remembers that on your device so the banner doesn’t come back. That record never reaches us.
We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies at the moment. If we start, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry, and to arrange and run your demo.
- To follow up with information about TierCommerce that relates to your enquiry.
- To keep the website secure, fix problems and improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We only send you marketing emails if you’ve agreed to receive them or they relate to an enquiry you made. Every one has an unsubscribe link, in line with Australia’s Spam Act 2003 and New Zealand’s Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting and email delivery. They get only what they need to do that job, and they must protect it.
- With our implementation partner, Jonathan Bird Web Design & Development, which is part of the team behind TierCommerce. If you go ahead with TierCommerce, the partner uses your details to run your onboarding.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
- If our business is sold or restructured, with the new owner, who must handle it under a policy at least as protective as this one.
Where it’s stored
We store the information you give us on servers in Sydney, Australia.
Some of the providers we use to send email or run our business may store or access information outside Australia, including in the United States. Before we use a provider like that, we take reasonable steps to make sure it protects your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Keeping it safe
The site uses HTTPS, so information you send us is encrypted in transit. Only people who need personal information for their work can access it. We keep it while we need it for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Access, correction and opting out
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email [email protected]. We’ll reply within 30 days, and there’s no charge.
To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them, or email us.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, email [email protected] and tell us what happened. We’ll look into it and reply within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. In New Zealand, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Data in the TierCommerce platform
This policy covers our website and our dealings with you. When a business uses the TierCommerce platform, it decides what information about its own customers goes into it. We handle that information on the business’s behalf under our customer agreement, and we host it in Sydney, Australia.
If you buy from a supplier that uses TierCommerce and you have a question about your account details, contact the supplier first. We’ll help them answer you.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when the way we handle personal information changes, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll make it clear on this page.
