TierCommerce vs NuORDER

The NuORDER alternative built for Australian and New Zealand wholesalers

NuORDER is a wholesale ordering platform owned by Lightspeed, which bought it in 2021. It’s built around seasonal, style, colour and size ranges, with digital line sheets, an iPad and iPhone app for reps and a marketplace where retail buyers find brands, and Lightspeed says more than 4,000 brands and 100,000 retailers use it. TierCommerce is built for Australian and New Zealand wholesalers, with native two-way integrations for MYOB, Pronto Xi, Options ERP and Xero, GST shown the way each customer needs it, and customer data hosted in Sydney.

The short answer

Choose TierCommerce if you’re a distributor or wholesaler running MYOB, Pronto Xi, Options ERP, Xero or another system common in Australia and New Zealand, and your trade customers need quotes, buyer-side approvals, PunchOut and AI order entry from emailed POs. Choose NuORDER if you’re a fashion, footwear or lifestyle brand selling seasonal collections to boutiques and department stores, and you want digital line sheets, an offline iPad app for appointments and trade shows, and a place in a marketplace that retail buyers already browse.

Why wholesalers choose TierCommerce over NuORDER

  • Native to the systems you already run

TierCommerce connects natively to MYOB, Pronto Xi, Options ERP, Xero, NetSuite, Business Central, Cin7, Unleashed and Katana MRP. Each integration is two-way and live, built and maintained by our own team, and every sync is logged so you can see what moved and replay it. NuORDER’s pre-built connectors don’t include MYOB, Pronto Xi, Options ERP or Xero.

  • Built for trade accounts, not just seasonal buying

Head users add and manage their own sub-users, including accounts-payable users who pay invoices and statements online. Quotes convert to orders, orders can go through multi-level approvals on the buyer’s side, and PunchOut runs round-trip with cXML and OCI.

  • AI co-workers with an exception queue

The Order Entry co-worker turns emailed and PDF POs into ERP sales orders and shows a confidence level for each one, so anything unclear lands in an exception queue for your team. Quoting, Buyer Assistant, Sales Copilot, Accounts and Catalogue co-workers cover the rest, and buyers’ AI agents can order through our MCP server.

  • GST, local support and Sydney hosting

Show prices inclusive or exclusive of GST for each customer, on their own payment terms. You work with an Australian team, customer data is hosted in Sydney, and our onboarding programme is built to get you live in about 30 days.

  • Your reps need an iPad and iPhone app that works offline at trade shows, with barcode scanning and signature capture.
  • You want to reach retail buyers through NuORDER’s marketplace, or you sell to retailers such as David Jones that already buy through NuORDER.

TierCommerce vs NuORDER questions

Is TierCommerce a good NuORDER alternative?

Yes, if you’re a distributor or wholesaler in Australia or New Zealand running a system such as MYOB, Pronto Xi, Options ERP or Xero. TierCommerce covers customer pricing, quotes, buyer-side approvals, online invoice payments, PunchOut and AI order entry, with GST per customer and Sydney hosting. If you’re a fashion or lifestyle brand that sells seasonal collections through line sheets, rep appointments and trade shows, NuORDER may suit you better.

Can I move from NuORDER to TierCommerce?

Yes. Your ERP stays your source of truth, so we connect TierCommerce to it and bring your products, customer pricing and stock across from there. We then set up your customers, users, approvals and PunchOut connections, and our onboarding programme is built to get you live in about 30 days.

How does TierCommerce pricing compare with NuORDER?

TierCommerce’s Essentials plan starts from A$500 a month and Professional from A$1,500, excluding GST, priced on the trade accounts that actually order online. We’ll quote Enterprise for your setup after a demo. NuORDER doesn’t publish its pricing and asks you to book a demo. The software directory GetApp lists a starting price of US$7,000 a year, so check with NuORDER for Australian pricing.

Does NuORDER integrate with MYOB, Pronto or Xero?

MYOB, Pronto, Xero and Options ERP aren’t listed in NuORDER’s help centre, and its pre-built connectors cover NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Shopify, ApparelMagic Cloud, RLM and Blast Ramp. NuORDER says other systems can connect through its flat-file or REST API, with the work done by your ERP vendor, your own developer or a contractor. TierCommerce integrates with all four natively.

Can NuORDER turn emailed POs into orders?

NuORDER doesn’t publish an AI order entry feature. Buyers can fill in a spreadsheet order template and upload it, and NuORDER’s AI features focus on assortment analysis, product recommendations and support. TierCommerce’s Order Entry co-worker turns emailed and PDF POs into ERP sales orders, shows a confidence level for each one and sends anything unclear to an exception queue.

Does NuORDER work in Australia and New Zealand?

Yes. David Jones uses NuORDER for its buying, NuORDER offers APAC support from 9am to 6pm AEST on weekdays, and Lightspeed Payments is available to Australian brands. Lightspeed Payments isn’t offered to New Zealand brands, which can connect their own payment processor instead, and NuORDER doesn’t publish where it hosts data. TierCommerce has an Australian team and hosts customer data in Sydney.
