Order tracking

Answer “where’s my order?” before they ring

Once an order is in your ERP, TierCommerce reads it back every 15 minutes. Buyers see its status, what’s shipped on each line and a tracking link for every shipment, without calling your team.

What buyers can see for themselves

  • Where each order is

Received, Being picked, Back-ordered, Part shipped, Dispatched or Delivered, read from your ERP.

  • What’s shipped on each line

“2 of 5 shipped”, “Ships 14 Nov”, or “Date to be confirmed” when it’s back-ordered with no date yet.

  • Every shipment, tracked

The date, carrier and consignment number, linked to the carrier’s tracking page, with proof of delivery when there is one.

How it fits together

Your ERP stays the record of what’s been picked and shipped. TierCommerce reads it back with every changes sync and shows it to buyers in their own words.

What your ERP knows

Read back every 15 minutes

  • Order status Your ERP’s own status for the order
  • Line quantities and dates Shipped, back-ordered and when the rest ships
  • Shipments Carrier and consignment numbers
TierCommerce

Order tracking

  • Turns ERP statuses into ones buyers understand
  • Works out what’s shipped on each line
  • Links consignment numbers to the carrier
  • Emails buyers once per change

Where buyers see it

And anything else you connect

  • Order pages and history For every user who can see the order
  • Emails to the buyer And the account’s order CC address
  • A webhook order.fulfilment_updated, for your other systems

How it works

One order at Coastline Office Group, from the warehouse floor to signed for.

  1. 1

Every order shows where it’s up to

Once your ERP reports on an order, its status in the buyer’s order history shows how it’s being filled. Head users like Sarah Lee see every order on the account, so they don’t need to chase each buyer.

    • Statuses read from your ERP every 15 minutes
    • Filter order history by delivery status
    • Search by order number, PO number or SKU
  2. 2

Each line says what’s shipped and when the rest will

On the order’s page, every product shows how many have shipped and when the rest is expected. If it’s back-ordered and your ERP has no date yet, buyers see that too.

    • Ship dates are your ERP’s, never estimated
    • “Date to be confirmed” instead of a guess
    • Prices and totals exactly as ordered
  3. 3

Shipments link straight to the carrier

Each shipment gets its date, carrier and consignment number, linked to the carrier’s tracking page. Once it arrives, buyers see when, who signed for it, and a proof of delivery link if the carrier gives one.

    • Links for ten Australian carriers built in
    • Your own vans and local couriers added with a tracking URL
    • A tracking link from your ERP always wins
  4. 4

Buyers are emailed when something changes

Emails go to whoever placed the order and the account’s order CC address, once per change. Switch off any your ERP already sends.

    • Shipped, with tracking links
    • Back-ordered and delivered
    • Ship date moved later, if you want it

Tracking links for the carriers you use

  • Australian carriers built in

Australia Post, StarTrack, TNT, Toll, Couriers Please, Aramex, Direct Freight Express, Hunter Express, Border Express and Team Global Express.

  • Your own vans and local couriers

Add the carrier’s name as your ERP writes it and its tracking page, with the consignment number in the address.

  • Your ERP’s link wins

When your ERP already has a tracking link for a shipment, that’s the one buyers get.

Your team sees it too

Staff see tracking on Orders, alongside your ERP’s own status and when it was last read.

  • Status read back every 15 minutes
  • Shipped and back-ordered quantities per line
  • Ship dates from your ERP, never estimated
  • Proof of delivery and who signed
  • A Fulfilment column and filter on Orders
  • The order.fulfilment_updated webhook

Tracking that comes from your ERP

Order tracking questions

How up to date is order tracking?

TierCommerce reads each order back from your ERP with every changes sync, every 15 minutes.

Which ERPs does order tracking work with?

NetSuite and MYOB Acumatica give buyers order statuses, shipped and back-ordered quantities, ship dates, and shipments with carriers and tracking numbers. MYOB Business gives order statuses, then shipped and back-ordered quantities as orders are invoiced. We check it against your own ERP before tracking is switched on for you.

Are delivery dates estimated?

No. Every date comes from your ERP. If a line is back-ordered and your ERP has no date, buyers see “Date to be confirmed”.

Which carriers link to tracking?

Australia Post, StarTrack, TNT, Toll, Couriers Please, Aramex, Direct Freight Express, Hunter Express, Border Express and Team Global Express. For anyone else, such as a local courier or your own vans, add the carrier’s tracking page and their consignment numbers link too.

Will switching it on email customers about old orders?

No. Nothing is emailed about an order’s first read, so buyers only hear about changes from then on.

Our ERP already emails customers when orders ship. Will they get two?

Only if you leave both on. Each tracking email can be switched off, so turn off any your ERP already sends.

Can our other systems hear when an order ships?

Yes. The order.fulfilment_updated webhook fires whenever an order’s tracking changes.
