Westpac PayWay B2B ecommerce integration
Let trade buyers pay by card through the PayWay facility you already have with Westpac, St.George, BankSA or Bank of Melbourne. The card is held when they order and charged only when the order goes to your ERP. Buyers can pay open invoices online too.
What syncs between Westpac PayWay and TierCommerce
Card payments go straight to your PayWay facility, so you are the merchant of record. TierCommerce never sees a card number and takes no fee on payments.
From PayWay into TierCommerce
Key check
Your merchant ID and API keys, checked with PayWay before they’re saved
Payment results
Approved or declined, shown on the order or invoice payment
Card surcharges
Any surcharge your facility adds, shown on the payment and kept apart from the order total
Refunds
Refunds you make in PayWay, picked up overnight and shown on the payment
From TierCommerce to PayWay
Card holds
The order total held on the buyer’s card when they place the order
Captures
The held amount charged when the order is released to your ERP
Released holds
The hold let go when an order is rejected or cancelled, so the buyer is never charged
Invoice payments
Open invoices paid in full by card, taken at once
3-D Secure checks
Cards checked with the buyer’s bank first, when you switch 3-D Secure on
A native PayWay integration, on your own facility
You connect PayWay with your own merchant ID and REST API keys. Payments are made on your facility, so the money, the fees, refunds and disputes stay between you and your bank.
-
PayWay REST API
Holds, charges and releases are made through PayWay’s REST API with your publishable and secret keys.
-
PayWay’s card form
Buyers enter their card in PayWay’s secure form. The card number goes to PayWay and never reaches TierCommerce.
-
Checked before saving
Your merchant ID and keys are checked with PayWay before they’re saved. The secret key is never shown again.
-
Key expiry reminders
PayWay secret keys last a year. You’re emailed a month before yours runs out, so you can add a new one in time.
What it supports in Westpac PayWay
- Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne PayWay facilities
- Card at checkout, on account and bank transfer, set per storefront and per customer
- Holds charged only when the order is released to your ERP
- Optional 3-D Secure, once it’s set up on your facility
- Card surcharges charged on top and shown on the payment
- Online invoice payments, each invoice paid in full
PayWay payments that fit how trade buyers order
-
Your money, your bank
Payments settle to your own PayWay facility as the merchant of record. TierCommerce takes no fee on top of your bank’s.
-
Charged only when the order goes through
The card is held at order and charged on release to your ERP. A rejected or cancelled order releases the hold.
-
Surcharges kept apart
Any surcharge your facility adds is charged on top and shown on the payment. Your ERP gets the order’s own total.
-
Invoices paid online, recorded in your ERP
Buyers pay open invoices by card. Each payment goes to your ERP applied to the invoices it paid, so nobody re-keys it.
-
Every payment on the order
Holds, charges, declines and refunds show on the order or invoice payment, so your team can answer a buyer without logging in to PayWay.
Taking card payments through PayWay in a day
If your PayWay facility is already open, connecting it takes minutes. Most of the day is a test order and choosing who can pay by card.
-
1 Step 1
Make your API keys
In PayWay, open Settings and create a publishable and a secret REST API key. Note your merchant ID.
-
2 Step 2
Check and connect
In TierCommerce, open Settings, then Payments, then Card payments. Enter your merchant ID and keys, then select Check and connect.
-
3 Step 3
Choose who pays by card
Turn card on for your storefront, then set each customer’s ways to pay. Tick 3-D Secure if it’s set up on your facility.
-
4 Step 4
Place a test order
Place an order by card, release it to your ERP and check the charge in PayWay before your buyers use it.
Secure and reliable by design
Your Westpac PayWay data is your business. The integration only touches what it needs, and every action is recorded.
- Card numbers go to PayWay, never to TierCommerce
- Payments made on your own PayWay facility
- Secret key stored encrypted and never shown again
- Optional 3-D Secure checks at checkout
- TierCommerce data hosted in Sydney
- Each payment sent to your ERP once, by its reference
Westpac PayWay integration questions
Does it work with St.George, BankSA or Bank of Melbourne?
Yes. These banks offer PayWay too, so connect your facility the same way with its merchant ID and REST API keys.
Does TierCommerce take a fee on card payments?
No. Card payments go straight to your PayWay facility and you pay your bank’s fees only. TierCommerce never sees card numbers and takes nothing from the payment.
When is the buyer’s card charged?
The order total is held on the card when the buyer orders. It’s charged when the order is released to your ERP: straight away, or after the last approval if the customer has approval rules. A rejected or cancelled order releases the hold, so the buyer is never charged.
What happens when our PayWay secret key expires?
PayWay secret keys last a year. You’re emailed a month before yours runs out. Make a new key in PayWay, then select Change keys in TierCommerce.
How are card surcharges handled?
If your facility adds a card surcharge, it’s charged on top of the order and shown on the order’s payment. Your ERP gets the order’s own total, so the surcharge doesn’t change the invoice.
Does it support 3-D Secure?
Yes. Tick Check cards with 3-D Secure once it’s set up on your PayWay facility, and buyers confirm the payment with their bank when it asks.
How do invoice payments get into our ERP?
Each payment goes to Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, MYOB Acumatica or Options, applied to the invoices it paid, with its TierCommerce payment number as the reference, so it’s never recorded twice.
How do refunds work?
Make the refund in PayWay. TierCommerce picks it up overnight and shows it on the payment.
